We are looking for a new colleague at the following position:
Production Manager
Workplace: Ózd, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county
Responsibilities / Tasks:
Production:
- Identify issues impeding productive efficiency and solve or report as soon as possible
- Work closely with the Production Planner team to ensure timely delivery of labour and materials
- Taking a lead role in continuously improving production processes and productivity
- Meeting production deadlines and high quality standards and at all times
- Keep the workplace tidy and organized
- Manage consumables ensuring issues are controlled and wastage avoided
- To achieve maximum productivity, quality and efficiency by making necessary decisions and liaising with appropriate stakeholders
- To instigate and lead improvements in factory continuously for best manufacturing practice and competitive pricing
- Ensure LEAN compliance and continued improvement to processes and job times
Line Management / Supervision:
- Management of Production Leads and other employees to ensure pace and quality standards are met
- Ensure the workforce is appropriately skilled and are regularly reviewed for skill, effort and attitude. Where there is an issue, coach and mentor the individual
- Ensure operator discipline including bell to bell working, and that H&S protocols are adhered to at all times
- Effectively manage overtime and ensure standards are met in line with regular working hours
- Playing a key part in the strategic direction of the plant
- Department budget management
- Recruitment, training and development of the production team
- Monitor KPI’s and take corrective action as appropriate to ensure adherence to schedule, productivity and quality standards
- Demand service from all support areas of the business - Development, Logistics, IT, HR, Quality, Engineering etc.
Health & Safety:
- To both maintain and continually seek to improve production systems and processes in line with the Company’s Quality Management System
- To promote positive work environment and staff work culture
- To support and participate in risk assessments as required and to support and raise Hazard Identification reports helping the reduction in accident levels
- To ensure safe and secure working conditions in line with health and safety regulatory and company policy
KPIs:
Productivity, Quality, Delivery and H&S Targets as determined by Senior Management including:
- Schedule adherence
- Cost, quality and delivery
- Budget adherence
- Skills matrix improvement
Person Specification:
- Minimum 3 years track record of successful management within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Experience in supervising a team
- Strong Leadership of the team
- Good communication skills
- Lean Manufacturing basics - Problem solving techniques, A3 reporting, visual management, 6S
- Project Management – able to plan, organise and lead projects
- Comfortable in front line management, with strong team leadership, excellent man-management and motivational skills
- Pro-active and well organised with an analytical approach to problem solving and operational issues
- Numerate and able to adhere to internal processes & procedures
- A competent, confident communicator liaising with all divisions of the business
- Computer literate – particularly with MS Office (Word, Excel etc.)
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 business (desirable)
- Must have managed a team of at least 20 people in a production environment
- Ability to accurately record and interpret production data
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the business and deal with unplanned issues
- Must have a keen eye for detail in process
- Strong face to face communicator
- Must have the desire for continuous improvement across the department and facility
