Responsibilities

  • REQUIREMENT MANAGEMENT / COMPLIANCE MATRIX PREPARATION (POLARION): Review customer specifications and document requirements in Polarion or similar.
  • SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE & SYSTEM REQUIREMENT MANAGEMENT: Review requirements and determine if they are sufficient and contain the necessary information required to complete a design concept and/or respond to a customer request for quotation.  Where information is not sufficient notify the responsible Bourns product engineer. 
  • PRODUCT DESIGN SPECIFICATION: Identify for product development hardware and software requirements and further identify requirement attributes which apply to ISO 26262.
  • CHANGE MANAGEMENT: Manage and track requirements through the development lifecycle including any change management pertaining to the product design.
  • SYSTEM TEST MANAGEMENT: Support Chief Engineers and their development team along with Validation and Test Engineers with validation test strategies which ensure that defined test cases sufficiently cover the projects documented requirements. Tracking of verification status through the generation of requirements traceability matrices and associated statistics.
  • FUNCTIONAL SAFETY CASE SUPPORT: Work with the product development team on the creation of safety concepts and safety analyses including FTA, FMEDA, CCA and Interface Analysis.
  • UPDATE PRODUCT CONCEPT: Preparation of requirements for external development partners and support the discussion and resolution of open issues with the development partners.
  • D-FMEA MODERATION (APIS): Conduct and moderate DFMEA meetings, capture DFMEA status with APIS, report out on DFMEA to customer and track any DFMEA open issues to resolution.
  • Work in teams and independently to communicate development status and results to the product team and management.
  • LEAD BOURN’S SYSTEM DESIGN PROCEDURE: Works with Program Management to ensure customer timelines are achieved. Works with document controls to ensure compliance to agree upon practices.
  • PRODUCT DATASHEET PREPARATION: Interfaces with customer accounts, as necessary.
  • Works with plant managers and plant program managers to successfully launch new products.
  • ENGINEERING ASSESSMENT FOR RFQ: Assist with the preparation of responses to RFQ’s as needed.
  • SUPPORT THE PREPARATION FOR THE IATF AUDIT: Maintain compliance to current TS16949 and ISO26262 standards and customer specific requirements as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent experience;
  • A minimum of five years of related engineering experience;
  • Strong English language skills
  • Knowledge in using Polarion, Apis SW
  • Good communication skills, teamplayer attitude
  • Knowledge in TS16494, ISO26262 standards
