As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a critical conduit between local engineering, product management, product development, and our customers. Your role is essential in ensuring the successful development, implementation, and support of our products in the plant. You will provide advanced technical expertise and support to Sales, CSSCs, CSUs, and other internal stakeholders, with local/regional responsibility for developed variants within a specified product range and region. Your primary mission is to support your local CSU and plant in growing good business for Grundfos by supporting sales of customized solutions.

Your main responsibilities

  • Offer in-depth technical assistance to resolve complex product-related issues.
  • Support your local team with knowledge about norms and regulations.
  • Guide the development of customized solutions tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, including product specifications, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, providing technical insights that drive sales of customized solutions.
  • Answer ‘customers’’ requests with high quality and in a timely manner, in line with key performance indicators.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, contributing to product strategy and development.
  • Engage with key customers to understand their technical requirements and ensure our products meet their expectations.
  • Develop and lead training programs for internal staff and external partners, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to effectively promote and support our products.
  • Act as a mentor to junior technical staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for product and process improvements, leveraging customer feedback and market research to drive innovation.
  • Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure our products remain competitive and cutting-edge.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Ensure all products and technical solutions comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain internal technical standards and best practices.
  • Present in front of colleagues and customers.
  • Work in a cross-divisional network with colleagues of different cultures all around the globe.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Preferably knowledge and experience in reading and creating technical 2D/3D CAD drawings.
  • Fluent English knowledge.
  • Experience in a technical role, preferably within the manufacturing, engineering, or technology industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, technical support, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in engaging with customers to understand and meet their technical needs.
  • Deep technical knowledge of the relevant product domain, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience managing or participating in cross-functional projects, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and address technical challenges.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, or collaborate with global teams.
  • Professional certifications related to the industry or product domain (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, relevant technical certifications) are a plus.
