Responsibilities

  • Develop C++ software components for embedded systems powering next-generation sonar technologies.
  • Understand system-level functionality and translate it into robust, maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with embedded, FPGA and hardware engineers to align software with product goals.
  • Contribute to building stable, efficient and high-quality system behaviour through modern engineering practices.
  • Participate and contribute in technology decisions.
  • Analyse high-level requirements and translate them into detailed firmware requirements and feasible firmware design.
  • Perform design reviews, code reviews, unit and system testing, develop software modules and writing documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in C++ development.
  • Experience in C and embedded development, or willingness to learn embedded systems.
  • STEM degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field — BSc is sufficient).
  • Familiarity with Git, CMake and CI/CD workflows.
  • Fluent English skills, written and spoken.
  • Strong sense of ownership, curiosity and continuous learning mindset.

Nice-to-have

  • MSc or PhD degree.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.
  • Familiarity with sonar/radar DSP techniques.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g. gtest).
  • Hardware development experience.
