Release Manager

We are looking for a very motivated, autonomous individual with basic methodological background, who is eager to learn.

• Junior, company-wide, cross department role, responsible for supporting the Release Manager in the successful delivery of the Project portfolio items at Vodafone Hungary by managing development projects in line with release delivery. 
• Under the guidance of the Release Manager, Plan and maintain release capacity, scope of releases and test environments of the company. 
• Acting as a bridge between Development, Testing and Business at the testing phase, with sharing release relevant information, and maintain communication.
• With junior project/program management skills, coordinate (under the guidance of the Release Manager)  release deliveries in close cooperation with PMO, COPS testing, vendors, Business Stakeholder, and Service Management. 
• Company wide communication to key stakeholders on production and test system availabilities and changes
• Active participation in (under the guidance of the Release Manager) complex overnight or multi day deployment rollouts to production and to test environments.
• Supports the Release Manager in preparation for all-level decision making about release gates, from start of testing with testing team(s) to production change acceptance with key business and IT stakeholders.
   

You will be involved in the following tasks:

• In alignment with the Release Manager, maintain the scope of the releases based on the availability of systems, environments and resources.
• In alignment with the Release Manager, plan and maintain the test environments utilization.
• Coordinates the testing period of the projects (planning and execution coordination) during UAT
• Schedules the meetings and prepares documentation for the decision forums for the delivery gates (start of UAT, final Go/NoGo)
• With the guidance of the Release Manager, coordinate timing of IT/TD scope of projects from Idea until closure as per the most recent demand and delivery processes and by applying valid project management methodology
• Responsible for supporting the Release Manager 
• To meet the agreed project milestones, quality criteria and budget constraints.
• In the identification and mitigation of the risks and issues associated with the releases.
• In the identification of the resources that are needed for the delivery of the release
• To deliver regular, standardized release status towards peers
• Actively cooperates with his/hers contacts both within the Technology (local, regional, global), Vendors and with other Business departments.
• With the guidance of the Release Manager
• Responsible for the up-to-date control and recordkeeping of the release scope with commitments
• Monitors Release Delivery process handled by the Technology Domains to provide clear, up-to-date status on the releases
• Active participation in E2E planning and coordination of release cut-overs.

• IT, Economics or Telco specific university degree.
• At least 2 years working experience in IT.
• Project coordinator skills and experience or Release coordination expertise.
• Release management process experience is an advantage
• Experience in IT development lifecycle.
• Experience in agile development methodologies.
• Technical and process awareness and ability to quickly understand new technology/processes is advantage.
• Good communication and relationship building skills, including presentations
• Strong written and verbal English knowledge.
• Proactive with good problem solving skills
