Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the proper operation of all unclassified radio systems at the Mission. Serves as the non-supervisory radio technician in maintaining the various radio networks and radio equipment for U.S. Government staff, vehicles, and official residences.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and removal of all EAC/E&E radio equipment and cabling for the Mission Chancery, official residences, repeater locations and any additional locations established on an as needed basis. Ensures 24-hour serviceability and accessibility of Post's radio systems. The technician installs, configures, relocates and updates radios and associated equipment, as well as required conduit and cabling. Incumbent helps maintain all asset management records, hand receipts and inventories for Post's radio systems.
  • The incumbent also works to support ISC efforts to include user account management, computer and device deployment and installation, systems troubleshooting, network maintenance and repair, deploying and maintaining new and existing cable infrastructure in support of IRM systems and provides customer support.
  • The incumbent will act as the back up for the mission's telephone and audio video systems. Incumbent will work with primary managers of these systems to become proficient all aspects of telephone and audio video systems to include but not be limited to deploying hardware and applying configurations, handling installations and hardware changes, updating applications, managing user accounts and providing customer service when request.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have three years of experience working in radio and telecommunications, and/or network engineering.
  • Must have a valid driver's license "B" for at least 5 years.

EDUCATION:

  • At least three (3) years of professional education related to Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology Systems in vocational school is required.

LANGUAGE:

  • English: Good working knowledge in Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
  • Hungarian: Good working knowledge in Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
