Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist your main goal is to:

  • Processing payroll activities ensuring that salaries & expenses are paid within regulatory framework and company processes and timelines
  • Handling confidential information ensuring that the company interests are not jeopardized.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing monthly payroll, including benefits, sick leave payment and taxes to all employees, maintain timesheet compliance consistent with corresponding laws
  • Handling the payroll process in the Attendance Tracking system (Codebase) while giving professional support to employees on payroll related questions
  • Processing new hires and terminations
  • Updating payroll system (Nexon) with changes of salary, employee type details etc. as per contract modifications
  • Handling general payroll processes independently under the control of the Payroll Head
  • Distributing and collecting the tax related form and extra holidays form after child(ren)
  • Collecting the travel cost documentations based on Hungarian Labor Code
  • Handling general social security related tasks
  • Updating payroll system with leave days based on leave request form, and give information about leave days to supervisors
  • Sick leave days registration and calculation based on Social Security Laws
  • Collecting sick leave certifications, and calculating the different type of sick leaves according to the Labor Code
  • Maternity leave days registration and calculation based on Social Security Laws, and documentation handling
  • Paternity days registration and calculation, and collecting the related necessary documents and forms
  • Employer certification handling
  • Reporting newly joined and resigned associates, and sick leave upon employment termination to Tax office
  • Monthly validation of Social Security Books for non-Hungarian associates and monthly reporting to Social Security Office
  • Monthly reporting to Statistical Office
  • Continuously following, and applying the new laws regarding Tax, Social Security, Labor Code and Family Support
  • Participating in the testing and developing of various payroll systems such as Codebase, Nexon etc.

Requirements:

  • Economist degree or equivalent
  • Payroll and Social Insurance specific education with general knowledge about social security processes (min. 1-2 years experience in such role)
  • Advanced payroll system (Nexon) knowledge and openness to learning another payroll system
  • General level knowledge ANYK program
  • Intermediate English (oral and written) and Native Hungarian knowledge

About your contract:

  • Type: full time, indefinite.
  • Working hours: 40 hours/week, office hours (hybrid).
  • Legal requirements: You need to be currently eligible to work in Hungary.
