Responsible for the secure and effective operation of all computer and (tele)communication systems, related applications, hardware and software in alignment with the business objectives of the organization.
Provide first and second line support to the organization spanning 3 locations in Europe.
Service desk (first line support)
- Contribute to the development of a Help Desk system that ensures requests for work are prioritised and completed in line with the department’s standards.
- Work towards achieving and maintaining ITIL recognised standards of support.
- Problem solve and troubleshoot issues on the staff & students computers such as software, hardware, configuration and user errors.
- Provide a high quality of user support to include:
- ERP systems
- Office365 for Enterprise
- Desktop support
- Peripherals support
- VOIP phone training for staff
- Install software as required and to expected standards.
ICT hardware installation and maintenance
- Contribute to IT projects including the installation and configuration of new and existing IT equipment.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance to hardware to maximise the efficiency of equipment.
- Ensure the correct disposal of damaged and un-repairable equipment and that the organisation meets its recycling duties in line with current procedures and legislation.
- Manage and maintain the Organisation’s network cabling infrastructure.
- Be responsible for the assessment of new education builds: including effective implementation and functionality.
Assistance to staff using ICT - including software support
- Setting up of equipment for the delivery of their duties.
- Contribute to ICT training and advise staff as appropriate.
- Staff software training where required.
Assist in the management of ICT computer portfolio (second line support)
- Advise and assist the ICT Manager regarding the procurement of all ICT equipment and consumables to include all supplier negotiations and stock auditing,
- Contribute to optimising the ICT department’s performance, including implementation of changes to office duties.
- Undertake maintenance of ICT hardware.
- Assist with the management of management software
- Contribute to the Organisations ICT development plan to ensure effective and timely implementation within allocated areas of responsibility.
- Maintain access for information systems and networks
- Liaise with partners and suppliers of the Organisation on ICT related issues.
- Assist with the technical upgrade, implementation and training for Intranet, ERP and productivity platforms.
- Ensure that all ICT systems and applications are secure and fit for purpose, continually reviewed and enhanced and that they will best deliver on the Organisations business needs.
