About the role:

Corvinus University of Budapest has over a 100-year-old history and is one of the leading universities in Hungary in Business and Management, Economics, and Social Sciences.

We have around 11,500 students, of which, approximately 2,000 are international.

We are located in a stunning UNESCO Heritage building overlooking the Danube River, in the heart of Budapest. The building is undoubtably the most sustainable educational building and won Portfolio's Green Investment of the Year Award in 2024.

We are looking for an HR Controller for a full-time position (40 hours/week) to join the HR team at the Corvinus University of Budapest.

HR Controller
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented HR Controller to deliver our personnel cost planning and data analytics processes. In this pivotal role, you will empower the HR function and the Executive Committee of the University with actionable insights, ensuring data-driven decision-making and resource optimization across the organization.

   

 

About the role

 

• Personnel Cost Planning: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous optimization of the personnel cost planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, headcount management, and cost tracking. Track cost spending and report any gaps.
• HR Budget Monitoring: Oversee and analyze the HR budget, provide precise rolling forecasts, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Compensation Processes: Manage the bonus payment and salary adjustment processes, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
• Data Analytics: Collect, organize, and analyze HR and organizational data to uncover trends and support strategic decision-making at all levels.
• Management Insights: Translate complex data sets into actionable insights, enabling senior leaders to make informed decisions regarding workforce planning, resource allocation, and organizational priorities.
• Reporting Systems: Develop and refine automated reporting systems featuring HR key performance indicators (KPIs) to streamline insights and increase efficiency.
• Advanced analytics: deliver complex and advances analytics (e.g., predictive modelling
• Process Automation: Identify opportunities for process automation and implement innovative solutions to optimize HR operations and reporting efficiency.
• Compliance and Privacy: Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and maintain strict confidentiality of HR data.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Present analytical insights and recommendations to the Executive Committee , fostering data-driven decision-making and aligning HR strategies with organizational goals.
• Diversity and Inclusion Metrics: Analyze and report on diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics to support the organization’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.
• Ad-Hoc Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations tailored to the needs of various stakeholders, addressing operational and financial challenges in HR spend

 

About you:

What You'll Need to Succeed

 

• Degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in HR controlling, HR analytics, data analytics, or finance, with a track record of driving insights for management decisions.
• Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint, with expertise in data modelling and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, HR platforms (e.g., Workday and Loga), and data quality assurance tools.
• A proactive, structured, and independent approach to problem-solving, with a strong attention to detail.
• Independent way of working
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Fluency in written and spoken English
