Head of People & Culture

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Be a key player in the local management team reporting to the Cluster Director People & Culture and local Managing Director
  • Leading the People & Culture department in Hungary with 6 direct reports
  • Implement the HR strategy for the Hungarian market in alignment with our business goals
  • Provide strategic partnership to the Hungarian Managing Director and the local leadership team
  • Drive organizational design and development initiatives, advance the local talent and succession strategy and be the interface for employee relations
  • Lead cultural change and integration process to support organizational efficiency
  • Implement a strategy of high performance culture, including succession planning and strengthen the talent pipeline with focus on diverse and emerging talents
  • Drive organizational success through effective policies, processes, terms and conditions that attract top talent
  • Supporting People Partners in providing business-oriented and innovative support for our Managers and the organization.  
  • Lead the coordination and integration of HR projects and regional initiatives to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization.
  • Overseeing development and execution of our HR processes such as Performance Review, Salary Review, Employee Survey, etc.
  • Our selection process is continuous and the ad may close before the recruitment process is completed, if we’ve moved forward to the screening or interview phase.

Required qualifications:

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in a comparable position and in a fast-paced work environment (preferably in the retail food sector, e-commerce, or business development)
  • You have at least 7 years of experience in building and leading teams and have already worked in matrix organizations.
  • You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with the business
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable plans.
  • You can think outside the box, finding innovative solutions, setting clear priorities, focusing on your team, and achieving excellent results
  • Pressure inspires you, and you see every change as an opportunity
  • Additionally, you have strong interpersonal and intercultural skills and can inspire and motivate diverse teams and interest groups
  • You have excellent communication skills in Hungarian and English
