Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport – Terminal 2 – WHSmith

We have an exciting opportunity at Budapest Airport, Terminal 2, for a positive and ambitious leader to join our WHSmith team. We are recruiting a General Manager to lead five retail stores and the stockroom operation, managing a team of approximately 50 people in a fast-paced, international environment.

What will the role be like?

As an experienced leader, you will take pride in running an outstanding operation and acting as a true ambassador for the WHSmith brand.

You will:

• Drive sales and manage costs across five stores and the stockroom team to maximise profitability, treating the business as your own.
• Inspire your teams to ensure every customer has a brilliant experience and wants to return to our stores.
• Recruit, develop and retain your team, making WHSmith the employer of choice in the Budapest market.
• Coach and develop colleagues, creating a culture of learning, support and recognition, and identifying opportunities to grow skills, product knowledge and confidence.
• Create a strong sense of pride across all stores and back-of-house operations, ensuring high standards, safety and legal compliance.

Senior retail or hospitality management experience is preferred, but just as important is your ability to inspire and lead a large, diverse team. You lead by example, are commercially sharp, and take full responsibility for the Profit & Loss performance across your stores.

You must be fluent in both English and Hungarian.

Salary: 13,000,000 – 15,000,000 HUF gross per year
