Financial Accountant SME (with remote work possibility)
Our American multinational partner company which is in the information management services industry is looking for a Country Accounting Controller colleague for their team.
The Country Accounting Controller colleague will be responsible for the accurate monthly accounting in Oracle system and group reporting.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, and fluent English knowledge.

Your tasks will be as a Country Accounting Controller:
- Responsible for the coordination, preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs for the country entities
- Maintain accountability to the Country Finance Business Partner. Perform risk analysis, review, and provide recommendations for business process changes necessary to address risks of financial misstatement.
- Provide support to investigate and resolve accounting issues for all Country entities
- Implement and lead regular balance sheet reviews for all Country entities and have a special focus on reviewing high risk balance sheet account reconciliations. These reviews will be fit into the schedule of the Europe regional balance sheet reviews conducted by the Budapest-based Europe Regional Controllership team.
- Accountable for ensuring compliance with the company’s group accounting policies, US GAAP and SOX.
- Responsible for the production of the monthly disclosure report for country entities.
- Accounting support of Cluster’s M&A activities, due diligence and post-acquisition integration projects
- Drive and support the effective operation of accounting shared services in the country. Identify any issues and manage resolution. Provide support in any additional transition to the outsourcing companies, or system implementation
- Monitoring P2P activities in the country, perform root cause analysis, run continuous improvement projects
- Revenue recognition: monitoring for risk around significant new or complex arrangements, work closely working with global SME
- Support capital lease and real estate area, monitor significant or complex transactions and work closely with the global Real Estate Team.
- Manage the digital business accounting activities.
- Manage and track preparation of Statutory Accounts and tax returns for all Country entities. Support external auditors for US GAAP audit purposes.
- Support and drive the local extended Audit with the local external Audit company.
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
- Reviewing the monthly and yearly VAT declarations for the Hungarian entities
Requirements:
- BSC/MSC degree in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a broad range of accounting functions
- Experience in the management of the General Ledger close for a large multinational corporation
- Good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
- Independent, and proactive attitude
- English language skills both oral and in writing
- Confident in MS Office
