Business Development Engineer

• To assist the Strategic Business Directors, Strategic Account Managers, and other members of the TR Fastenings Sales Team with Technical, Engineering and Product Support to develop and grow TR sales across all business sectors.
• Autonomously, in alignment with the agreed strategies, open and technically develop new applications and accounts, particularly through building relations with customer’s engineering, production, and quality teams, improving conversion success rates.
• Undertake VAVE, Line-walks, application reviews including tear-down to increase TR’s product offering or profitability.
• Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Sourcing, Marketing, Sales, and Quality disciplines on all projects and understand the supportive role of engineering within the TR Team.
• Review and coordinate technical information from suppliers and contractors: understand and review technical drawings anticipating manufacturing, assembly, function, and recyclability requirements.
• Be an active participant in the Engineering community, contributing to improvements, design, innovation, strategic projects, VAVE, ESG and general support.
• To work closely with Quality and Operational roles to ensure we are responsive and timely with any customer issues.
• As part of the role to undertake personal development to the benefit of the company, which include project management, presentation and sales skills, general product knowledge and mechanical design.
• To gain and maintain an up-to-date solid engineering knowledge of the products that TR supply and will supply in the future, to provide proactive support to Customers (OEM’s, Contract Manufacturers) and to TR colleagues within the Global Strategic Customer base.

• You are a graduate with an Engineering Degree preferably in Mechanical, Production, Design or similar Technology discipline. (Other Technical Qualifications will be considered.)
• Ideally have CAD 2D & 3D experience (SolidWorks or similar), high level of computer literacy incl. spreadsheet, database capability, excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Being a self-starter with a passion for detail and hunger for finding solutions or resolving technical challenges.
• Being able to communicate clearly in English language verbally and in writing with customers and colleagues at all levels, other languages can be beneficial in communication with customers or other stakeholders.
• Being highly self-motivated, organised and task driven, you must show the right attitude and be able to work both as an individual under your own initiative and part of a team. Possess a high level of common sense, logical approach together with a willingness to learn, using the benefits of your academic capabilities.
