Analyst, Customer Collection

Task:

About the Role
AR Cash Collection analyses customer records and contacts them with respect to outstanding overdue invoices and open disputes. Must maintain a good balance between Harman’s financial interest and customer relationship.

What You Will Do
  • Work with global teams geographically and across all Harman businesses.
  • Perform daily tasks in accordance with written instructions and based on guidance from the line manager or senior team members.
  • Contact customers by phone and e-mail.
  • Handle incoming calls.
  • Liaise with Business Units and the sales teams.
  • Identify, monitor and escalate customer deductions.
  • Inform management about collection issues.
  • Analyze and manage customer receivables.
  • Generate and send payment reminders.
  • Complete closing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for management.
  • Collaborate with the line manager to fulfill external and internal audit requests.
  • Follow Harman SOX and Harman Policy regulations.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager.
  • Collaborate with the Cash Application team and the line manager.
  • Provide back-up for one selected team member as appointed by the line manager.
  • Work afternoon shifts if required by customers’ time zones.

Expectation:

  • Bachelor’s degree or specialized secondary education in economics combined with relevant experience.
  • 0-1 year of experience in cash collection.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication skills over the phone and in e-mail.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications required.
  • Willingness to work in flexible timings and in a stringent timeline.
  • Flexible about work content, timings, and location.
  • Be willing to work in an office; this role is eligible to work remotely up to full-time with occasional trips into the Shared Services office location required (this could be on 24-hour notice).

Other:

  • Good knowledge of SAP FICO would be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.
