JOB PURPOSE
The Agronomist Lead will drive technical excellence and innovation in agronomic solutions, contributing to the competitive positioning of Bayer Crop Science in the market. The position involves managing field trials, providing technical support, and enhancing the company’s offering by leveraging cutting-edge agronomic practices and technologies.
YOU ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Identify and recommend strategies for enhanced competitive positioning of Bayer’s products.
* Monitor and benchmark competitor products to provide actionable insights.
* Support the development and repositioning of the current commercial offering.
* Introduce advanced production systems that enhance the company’s competitive edge.
* Conduct and manage field trials to align with strategic goals and generate impactful commercial data.
* Oversee trials for commercial and pre-commercial products and solutions, ensuring year-on-year impact.
* Collect, analyze, and report data for long-term (Y+1_Y+2) trials.
* Provide execution guidance and supervision of trial protocols for Territory Squad agronomists.
* Offer technical support, including complaint management and training, to the agronomist community.
* Transfer technical knowledge to internal and external stakeholders through tailored communication strategies.
* Develop technical content for catalogues, customer journey apps, and other communication platforms.
* Actively engage with stakeholders, including customers and industry professionals, to ensure knowledge transfer and solution adoption.
WHO YOU ARE: * In-depth understanding of agronomy, crop science, and seed production, including pest management, crop protection, soil health, and digital farming solutions.
* Comprehensive knowledge of regenerative agriculture practices, such as soil conservation, crop rotation, and integrated pest management.
* Familiarity with EU and local agricultural policies and sustainability standards.
* Market Insights and Analytics.
* Strong experience in managing end-to-end field trials.
* Competency in using precision agriculture technologies, including drones and satellite imagery.
* Strategic mindset to transform data insights into actionable technical positioning.
* Excellent ability to convey complex technical concepts in an engaging and understandable manner.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, market development, or field solutions roles within the agricultural business.
