Responsibilities

  • Incumbent provides a full range of financial management services for Department of State's selected offices: assisting with budget preparation and execution, maintenance of official accounting records, preparation of management reports, auditing internal control compliance, reconciliation of official records and other duties including recording payroll transactions and reviewing unliquidated obligations.
  • Prepares, manages, and executes workload budgets for organizations assigned to incumbent's portfolio with the assistance and guidance from the Financial Specialist.
  • The incumbent acts as the financial management advisor to the section and agency heads supported and is responsible for assisting with the budget formulation for an allotment.
  • This position requires independent monitoring that funds are disbursed in accordance with all pertinent regulations for a portfolio.

Requirements

  • EXPERIENCE: At least three years experience in an automated accounting office is required.
  • EDUCATION: Two years of college/university studies in finance, economics or business is required.
  • LANGUAGE:
    • English: Good Working Knowledge; speaking, reading & writing.
    • Hungarian: Fluent; speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate.
