Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d)

ISG is now conducting the interview process on behalf of a world-leading engineering and technology company based in Vienna which creates systems and products for the production of green energy. The R&D team is growing and they are now hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to start and be onboarded in the upcoming months. This is a long-term position and you will have access to continuous training and development. Your role:

• Design and development of resource-critical software in C/C++ for self-developed hardware (embedded systems)
• Focus on developing software for embedded Linux-based systems
• Activities throughout the development process: design, development and development-related testing
• Close cooperation with hardware development and specialist departments

Your Background & Experience:

• Completed technical training in the field of mechatronics, electrical engineering & computer science (HTL, FH, TU, or similar)
• Professional experience in a comparable position is an advantage
• Proficient use of the object-oriented programming language C++
• Solid knowledge in the development of resource-optimized applications on POSIX-like operating systems, ideally Embedded Linux
• Experience with communication standards in the field of infrastructure automation (IEC 60870-5 and IEC 61850) or similar technology desired
• Practical know-how in dealing with security relevant topics in the field of embedded software development is a plus
• Competence in the creation and maintenance of automated tests desirable
• Good knowledge of German (at least a B1)
• Accurate, independent and team-oriented way of working
• Occassional Travel
