Currently we are looking for

SENIOR BACKUP ENGINEER (JT)

Location: Budapest XI. district, hybrid (2 days /week in office)

Salary: competitive

Type of employment: contracting

• Project Engineering – Provide support during and after project implementation, including troubleshooting issues,
• Incident management – Managing the L3 level of incident escalation beyond the help desk and Tier 2 support as last stop shop for customer incidents (Tier 3 support),
• Change management – Supporting change planning and automated or manual execution where necessary,
• Problem management – Root Cause investigation from a technology point of view, and the execution of corrective and preventative measures that arise from RCAs,
• Performance & capacity management – monitor performance and capacity of backup against SLA target levels and trigger necessary activities proactively,
• Monitoring/Observability – respond to alerts/tickets,
• Release & Lifecycle management – perform software or hardware upgrades as required,
• Knowledge Management – maintain documentation and contribute to improvement of the internal knowledge base,
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

• Minimum 6-8 years of data center backup infrastructure experience
• Prior experience in supporting OpenStack environments.
• Prior work experience in Sovereign environments (e.g. for public sector or regulated industries)
• Specific experience with Dell Networker, Cohesity and the relevant cloud technologies
• Confident English
• Candidate needs to be currently eligible to work in Hungary.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of the backup concepts specifically with Dell Networker, Cohesity and the relevant cloud technologies
• Experience as L3 person to troubleshoot and fixing backup incidents
• Good understanding of DevOps framework, tools, and Agile methodologies
• Experience with scripting and automation
• Other Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodology
• Self-starter, able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, Command of the English language
