Senior Application Support Devops Engineer

for our Technology Team!

You will be involved in the following tasks

  • resolve medium to high complexity application incidents, performing analysis (logs, reports, SQL queries) and escalating to vendors or internal teams as needed
  • communicate incident impacts to affected users, minimize disruptions, and ensure SLA adherence
  • support end-users with application functionality, user management, and informal training
  • automate daily tasks for first-line support and manage operational handovers
  • monitor applications using tools like Zabbix or Pagerduty; create and interpret complex alerts and monitoring scripts
  • participate in testing (operational, regression, integration) and ensure proper documentation for long-term operations
  • apply changes to applications (e.g., reference data, operational parameters, bulk modifications)
  • maintain test environments (UAT1, UAT2, PET) and oversee application frameworks like Oracle Weblogic or IIS
  • investigate database inconsistencies and ensure business process automation
  • supervise first-line support staff (20+ professionals) and provide knowledge sharing for preventive operations
  • support internal end-users (300) and IT systems serving 3 million subscribers

We are looking for you if you have

  • 4+ years IT background with emphasis on the application operation, development and support cycle related methodologies and technologies 
  • broad IT background with emphasis on the application operation, development and support cycle related methodologies and technologies
  • strong SQL knowledge (MS/Oracle/PostgreSQL)
  • strong scripting skills (MS Powershell, Linux shell)
  • strong source code reading and at least basic coding knowledge in at least one OOP language
  • windows Server, UNIX(Linux) knowledge
  • experience with Apache Tomcat, Oracle Weblogic, Liferay DXP, Microsoft IIS
  • experience with monitoring and alerting solutions (eg. Zabbix, Opensearch, Grafana, Pagerduty)
  • ITIL knowledge
  • Microservice operation experience
  • CI/CD experience
  • good written and oral communication skills both in Hungarian and English
  • experience of a multicultural environment
  • experience in the development of business processes and procedures
  • independent and proactive attitude
