The role is responsible for providing support for the delivery of Absence Management function. The position will provide a well-rounded experience of both upstream and downstream HR operations.The Role:A great opportunity for dedicated mid-level candidates to fulfil their potential as part of our passionate, fast-paced and friendly HR Platform & Infrastructure team.Develop an understanding of internal HR teams, e.g., Payroll, Rewards, Legal and Compliance, and HR Business Partners to resolve manager and employee questions within defined timelinesDevelop a strong working relationship with established vendors, ensuring leaves are processed timely and correctly with vendors (i.e. Payroll) and providing insights to help manage vendor performance on casesProvide exceptional customer service to internal clients, efficiently and effectively answering their questions and / or sound advice while working to problem solve with them concerning their absence (for example, family leave, health)Counsel employees and managers concerning leave benefits and provide employees with accurate information on policy, deductions from pay relating to absences, medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, etc.Process all long-term absences on our Absence System and Payroll systems, resolve eligibility for various leave programs including family and medical leave (FMLA) and temporary disability leave according to established guidelines, and advise employees in a timely mannerUnderstand different Leaves and Leave policies for various countries and its impact operationallyReview, operate and audit HR transactions relating to leaves within employee lifecyclePartnering closely with Benefits team in launching new/amend leaves as and when requiredWork on compliances related to leaves and abide by all the filings, payments as needed by the local legislation.Build deep understanding of end to end processes and be able to act as competent back –up for other team members across regions where BlackRock has a presenceAdept in using technology systems and applications to execute day-to-day responsibilities including WorkdayConduct periodic audits and reconciliations of processes, build/ follow proper controls to mitigate riskContinuously identify and drive process improvement and standardization opportunities to provide an exceptional employee experience, identify areas for automation and reduction of riskIndependently balance day to day responsibilities with key project work and professional development opportunities; strong time managementConnect with peers (within team and across regions) to share best practices, ideas and solutionsCreate and maintain process documentation Experience:4 - 6 years of proven experience in HR operations or another business or corporate operations teamBA/BS Degree, MBA (HR) preferredExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Solid ability to problem-solve and recommend solutionsMicrosoft Office (essential) and Workday (preferred)Broad knowledge of HR Absence Management processes and their interdependenciesPrior experience with vendor management (required)Financial services and/or investment banking industry experience is preferable Competencies Required:A high level of attention to detailA positive and ‘can-do’ attitudeDiscretion in dealing with confidential informationRisk ManagementTeamwork including collaborating with remote team membersStrong problem-solving skillsDemonstrated customer / employee service experience; desire and ability to provide excellent service to internal clientsAdaptability and resilience to pressurized environmentsCommunicate with impactProven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlinesAbility to identify, analyze and develop improvements to processes and/or proceduresOur benefitsTo help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.Our hybrid work pilotBlackRock’s current hybrid work pilot is designed to help you experience the best of both worlds: the opportunity to connect with colleagues in person and the flexibility to work remotely, with greater time to focus on what’s important to you.
